Who We Are

MayWeBlossom LLC was created by founder Taija-Rae Guzman’s deep commitment to improving mental health awareness and access for those in urban communities. While studying criminal justice during her undergraduate years, Taija-Rae participated in an Inside–Outside Prison Exchange Program, where she engaged in weekly dialogue with incarcerated men in prison. It was there she saw the transformative power of compassion, safe space, and meaningful conversation in fostering self-awareness and personal insight. This experience led her to pursue social work, earning her MSW and later her LCSW.

With over 10yrs in the field, Taija-Rae has extensive clinical experience across diverse settings; including foster care, education-based social-emotional learning, early intervention and applied behavioral analysis, outpatient and crisis care, and supportive services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. Her work spans all age groups and a wide range of mental health conditions.

Ultimately, her path led her to serve as a mental health clinician at Rikers Island, where her work with men aged 18 to 75 deepened her understanding of the lasting effects of generational trauma, systemic inequities, childhood instability, and justice system involvement. Through this work, Taija-Rae recognized a common thread beneath patterns of emotional suppression, anger, impulsivity, and interpersonal struggle: individuals who were never given the tools, space, or permission to heal. Many at the crossroad between who they have been and who they long to become.

MayWeBlossom LLC exists to help close that gap. Through culturally responsive, person-centered, and evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy, we support individuals in increasing self-awareness, processing the past, and understanding the present—so they can build healthier, more grounded futures. Our work is rooted in the belief that healing is not only possible, but essential, and that with the right support, individuals can move beyond survival and truly blossom.
